Civil Rights

Hello and welcome back to my blog. As you all know, my topic is and racing and today I will be talking about how unequal society was during the early 60's in the civil rights era. Segregation kept blacks and whites separate for each other's daily lives. An example of this would be that they don't go to school together, eat at different restaurants, and can't play at the same parks. The conditions for blacks was very poor compared to the conditions of whites and they didn't like that. Many protests and actions have occurred. An example would be when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus for a white man. She was arrested and sent to prison for not following the rules. This sparked many tensions with African Americans and more and more movements occurred. This article about the civil rights movement talks in depth of what occurred during this era and lists many of the leaders involved.
