Civil Rights
Hello and welcome back to my blog. As you all know, my topic is and racing and today I will be talking about how unequal society was during the early 60's in the civil rights era. Segregation kept blacks and whites separate for each other's daily lives. An example of this would be that they don't go to school together, eat at different restaurants, and can't play at the same parks. The conditions for blacks was very poor compared to the conditions of whites and they didn't like that. Many protests and actions have occurred. An example would be when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus for a white man. She was arrested and sent to prison for not following the rules. This sparked many tensions with African Americans and more and more movements occurred. This article about the civil rights movement talks in depth of what occurred during this era and lists many of the leaders involved.

Race During the Progressive Era
Welcome back to my blog. Today's topic is on race during the progressive era. Segregation during this time was a big way of life separating all blacks and whites from each other. Laws such as the Jim Crow laws formed by the supreme court case Plessy vs. Ferguson, set this way of life. During this time, African Americans we treated not as well as whites were treated. Places such as schools, public bathrooms, and restaurants were poorly treated and not clean making it a non safe environment. After reading this article, I now know how the Jim Crow laws affected society during the Progressive era.

Blog 4
As you remember, my topic is race. Race during the time of the Civil war was mainly on slavery. Southerners relied heavily on slaves to produce their main cash crop cotton while the northerners' view on slaves died out. Because of the looks on both sides of the country, the Civil War broke out and changed slavery completely. After reading this article on the outbreak of the Civil War I now know how important it was for the slaves to escape to the north to be free.
